Is LesterMark free?Yes — free on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. No subscription, no in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?No. Download, open, and start capturing — no sign-up or email required.
Where is my data stored?In your own iCloud account (or on-device only if you choose a Local Space). LesterMark has no servers and cannot access your data.
How do I get my bookmarks on iPhone?Install LesterMark from the App Store and sign into the same iCloud account as your Mac. Your library syncs automatically.
Can I use LesterMark without iCloud?Yes — create a Local Space in Settings → Vaults → New Vault → Local. Everything stays on that device only.
How do I see a Mac file or note on iPhone?Use Capture & Save (⌃⌘S on Mac) instead of plain Capture. This saves a permanent copy of the content to iCloud so it’s viewable on iPhone and iPad — and by other Shared Space members.
A capture isn’t showing up.Make sure iCloud Drive is enabled (Settings app → your name → iCloud). If you captured on Mac and are looking on iPhone, allow 10–30 seconds for iCloud to sync.
I’m not getting chat push notifications.iPhone: Settings app → Notifications → LesterMark → Allow Notifications. Mac: System Settings → Notifications → LesterMark.
LesterMark asks for permissions I don’t understand.Photos access: needed to bookmark real photos from your library. Accessibility + Automation access (Mac only): needed to detect which app is frontmost when you press ⌃⌘C.
Opening an Apple Notes bookmark doesn’t show my note.iOS has no URL scheme for jumping to a specific note — the Open Notes button takes you to the app; you find the note yourself. This is an iOS platform limitation we can’t work around.
