What’s New in v2.22

Cards grid, filter panel power-ups & Danish.

🃏

Cards view — 1–5 columns

Pick 1–5 columns directly in the toolbar. Column 1 is the original landscape layout; columns 2–5 use a portrait grid.

🔍

Search inside Tags & Folders

Both the Tags and Folders sections now have an inline search box in the section header — find any tag or folder instantly without scrolling.

🎨

Filter panel — colors & icons

Type dots, tag colors, folder icons, and folder colors shown in the filter panel. Tag exclude via right-click. My World built-in lens added.

📖

Obsidian notes rendered

Obsidian note content now renders as rich markdown in the Content panel — headings, lists, bold/italic, wikilinks, code blocks, and callouts, all formatted inside LesterMark.

🌍

Danish localisation

Full browser window, filter panel, and right panel tabs translated to Danish — Linser, Mappe, Relationer, Indhold, and all section headers.

The problem

Your stuff is everywhere. And you forget where.

A file three folders deep. An email from six weeks ago. A photo you can describe but not find. A webpage you definitely meant to save. Each app has its own search, and none of them talk to each other. You either remember which app to look in, or you don’t find it again.

LesterMark bookmarks the thing itself — wherever it actually lives — so you can search it, find it, and open it back to exactly where it was. No copying, no moving files, no pasting into a note and hoping.

How it works

Three steps, one keyboard shortcut.

01

Capture

Press ⌃⌘C while looking at something — a file, an email, a photo, a webpage. LesterMark sees what’s frontmost and creates a bookmark instantly. On iPhone, use the Share Sheet.

02

Find

Search everything you’ve captured — by title, type, app, tag, or meaning. Semantic search understands natural language: “the report I was reviewing last month” finds it even if those words aren’t in the title.

03

Open

Press ⌃⌘O or tap. LesterMark opens the original — the file in Finder, the note in Apple Notes, the email in Mail, the photo in Photos — not a copy, the real thing.

What you can capture

20+ source types. One place to find them.

LesterMark understands the app you’re in and captures from it natively — not just a link, but a bookmark that opens back to the real object in its own app.

Shared Spaces & Chat

A shared vault with real-time sync — and a built-in conversation.

Create a Shared Space and invite others via a simple link. Everyone in the Space sees the same bookmarks, can capture into it, and stays in sync over iCloud — changes appear within seconds.

Use Capture & Save (⌃⌘S) to save a permanent copy of any capture — a webpage, file, or note — alongside the bookmark. All Space members can view the saved content directly, even if they don’t have access to the original app or file.

Every Shared Space has its own Chat thread: a live, iMessage-style conversation between all members. Send messages, see who’s read what via read receipts, and get notified even when you’re not in the app.

🔔

Push notifications

New messages arrive as banner notifications even when LesterMark is closed. The badge counts unread messages so nothing slips by.

✓✓

Read receipts

A “Seen by…” line shows who has read up to each message. Your read position updates automatically when you open Chat.

⚡

Live sync

New captures and messages appear within seconds on every device — Mac, iPhone, and iPad — with no manual refresh.

Semantic Search

Search by meaning, not just words.

The sparkles button in the search bar switches on semantic search — it matches your query against the meaning of your bookmarks, not just exact text. Search for “the architecture document from the planning session” even if those words never appear in the title.

Works alongside exact search. A query that matches exactly still wins; meaning fills the gaps when it doesn’t. No extra setup — it’s always there in the filter bar.

Filter panel

Narrow down from a list, not just a search box.

Click the sliders icon in the toolbar (or press ⌘3) to open the filter panel on the left. Every filter type lives here as a collapsible section — click the chevron to expand or collapse any of them.

LensesSaved filter presets — apply in one click to restore a full filter+sort+view combination.
CatalogFilter by folder. “Uncataloged” shows everything not yet filed.
TagsMulti-select tags; grouped tags have their own expand/collapse inside this section. OR logic — any tagged bookmark matches.
TypeShow only Notes, Files, PDFs, Photos, etc. One type at a time.
MembersShared Spaces only. Filter bookmarks and chat messages by who captured or sent them. One entry per person across all their devices.
Date RangeFilter by capture date (Bookmarks) or send date (Chat). Set a start date, end date, or both.
Save as Lens. When any filter is active, a “Save as Lens” button appears at the top of the panel. It captures the current filters, sort order, view mode, and panel state as a named preset you can apply later in one click.

Privacy

Your data is yours. LesterMark has no servers.

Everything LesterMark captures — every bookmark, every note, every relation — lives in your own iCloud storage, or even on your own harddisk only. LesterMark has no account system, no analytics, and no servers of its own.

🔒

No account required

Download, open, start capturing. No sign-up, no email address collected, no profile to create.

☁

iCloud storage only

Your library lives in your own iCloud container. LesterMark cannot access it from outside your device.

🚫

No analytics or tracking

No crash reporters phoning home, no usage metrics, no third-party SDKs collecting behavioural data.

💾

Own harddisk only

Create a local-only Space and your library never touches iCloud — everything stays on your Mac, completely offline.

Chat push notifications: Delivery uses a small Cloudflare Worker relay that forwards only the recipient’s device token, sender name, and a message preview to Apple’s push servers. The relay stores nothing and has no access to your bookmarks or iCloud data. Full privacy policy →
